Dear Northwell School of Health Sciences Community,
As we prepare to welcome our inaugural class, I am filled with excitement to share our calendar of events for Spring 2025! We have crafted a dynamic lineup of activities designed to build community, provide essential information, and ensure a smooth transition for our new students and their families.
Join us for a welcoming virtual orientation where we will review important school policies, discuss our schedule and program development, and highlight our exciting partnerships and upcoming events. This is also a fantastic opportunity for parents to connect and build relationships within our community!
Virtual Orientation for Parents and Guardians (choose one)
Date: April 22
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Time: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
We invite students to engage in an enlightening orientation that introduces them to our school’s mission, vision, and values through interactive activities. This is a wonderful chance to explore our four career pathways. This session is ONLY for students.
In-Person Student Orientation (choose one)
Dates: May 6, 13, 15
Time: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: La Guardia Community College
Our immersive summer program will provide students with hands-on experiences in the healthcare industry, encouraging collaboration and camaraderie among peers.
NSHS Summer Immersion (choose one)
June 27: Lenox Hill (Manhattan) - Capacity: 65 students. Meet in front of NSHS at 8:30 AM; bus departs at 9:00 AM and returns by 3:00 PM.
July 21: LIJ Medical Center (New Hyde Park, Queens) - Capacity: 80 students. Meet in front of NSHS at 8:30 AM; bus departs at 9:00 AM and returns by 3:00 PM.
August 20: Glen Cove Hospital (Long Island) - Capacity: 50 students. Meet in front of NSHS at 8:30 AM; bus departs at 9:00 AM and returns by 3:00 PM.
The Northwell School of Health Sciences will have a uniform policy:
- Daily Uniform: NSHS 3 Button Polo Shirt, Jogger Nurse Pants, NSHS Zip up
- Physical Education: NSHS Polo Shirt, NSHS Sweatpants, NSHS Sweatshirt
- Lab & Special Event Uniform: White NSHS Scrub Shirt + Jogger Nurse Pants
- SHOES: Students are responsible for purchasing shoes on their own. Acceptable options include sneakers, Crocs without holes, and winter boots during the winter season.
NSHS Uniform Starter Kit: In our effort to support and welcome our inaugural class, NSHS will provide a uniform starter kit that will be given to students by the end of June 2025. When you complete this form, please select one size that will be applied to all items.
Uniforms must be purchased via our uniform store between June and July to ensure timely delivery. Details and price catalog will be shared during our April virtual open house. It is strongly recommended that students have a minimum of 5 polos, pants, zip ups and 2 physical education sets.
We are truly excited about these upcoming events and cannot wait to engage with our students and families as we embark on this incredible journey together.
